THE YEAR TO DATE

Hi all.
Ok - you can stop nagging now Oogie - I'm actually putting up a short post.
I'll begin with not making any excuses for not blogging ........ but i'm so tempted to do so hee hee.
Its been busy since january 1st with FiFi being away, renovating, working and dealing with P for B, then Fifi coming home, Oogies visit (she hates that nickname :-} ), a new member in the family (Boops bub Elias), helping the Mad Architect figure out what her idiot lecturers want, and generally life getting in the way of fun.

But sometimes fun is interupted by life..............

As mentioned by Oogie, my ex has a brain tumor. What do you say when somebody tells you something like that? It kinda floored me - no - it bloody flattened me. Shes not old - 51 (I know - when you are in your teens or twenties, anybody over thirty is ancient and if you are in your 50's! Thats an impossible age to imagine.)
Damn - I'm 52 and starting to outlive some of my contempories - ie. an old mate from wayback died earlier this year and he was younger than me (50), another old friend is 49 and just been diagnosed with prostrate cancer!! Not to mention (but I am) my eldest sister died at 35 with complications associated with Lupus, my younger sister at 37 from cancer. And now the ex..... sometimes life just sucks.......
I'm getting tired of those that I care about, or have been close to at some time, dying.
I look at the news and see babies, kids, teenagers, young mothers ( - Char -) dying in some way or another - it ....... well.... it sucks.......

I gotta go and see the ex tomorrow night - usually I'm cheerful, stir her up and generally give her heaps about her latest love (wherever or whoever he may be) but...... I don't know what to say now, One of the few times in my life when I really don't know what to say. We finished a long time ago but we have remained sorta friends. Now she will need support etc and there is nobody around to really give it to her. Her kids have grown up and moved away so..... I guess I'm it.

After I've been to see her I'm really gonna need a drink ......................................

I've been there so many times before - watching my father die slowly from his war caused injuries, (I was barely 18) my eldest sister (lupus), the girls mom, various others and now Annie...

Ok - so I'm depressed - I got a right to be - but not as depressed as the sad, ill and sick victims of this world.

Girls - ie. Momma, Mad architect, The Ditz and Baby Momma - you lot are into the exercise, fish pills and lettuce leaves. Get healthy or you are really going to hear it from me......

and girls ........ I love you all dearly
